Allu Arjun and Theatre Management to Face Legal Action After Tragic Stampede at 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' Premiere

A celebratory premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule in Hyderabad turned tragic when a surprise visit by Telugu superstar Allu Arjun sparked a fatal stampede. The chaotic incident led to the death of a 35-year-old woman, and her nine-year-old son was seriously injured. According to local police, the theatre lacked proper crowd control measures and failed to notify authorities of Allu Arjun's visit, which contributed to the disaster.

On December 5, 2024, Allu Arjun and renowned music composer Devi Sri Prasad made an impromptu appearance at Sandhya Theatre for the premiere of the highly anticipated sequel. Fans, eager to catch a glimpse of their favorite star, rushed towards the venue, leading to uncontrollable scenes. The situation worsened when the main gate of the theatre collapsed under the immense pressure of the crowd.

Police reports indicate that the theatre management did not have any specific security provisions in place, and they failed to make arrangements for a separate entry and exit for the actor. The authorities had to use force to manage the mob and restore order. As a result, both the theatre and Allu Arjun’s team are now facing legal action for their negligence in ensuring crowd safety.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand confirmed that there was no prior communication from the theatre or the actor’s team about the surprise visit. He stated that the lack of security measures led to the unfortunate incident. In response to the tragic event, Allu Arjun's team expressed their sorrow and sympathy, offering their support to the grieving family.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, and we stand by them during this challenging time," said the actor's representative in an official statement.
